Israeli MK Exposes French Consulate’s Illegal Pro-Palestinian Operations Undermining Jerusalem’s Sovereignty and Security

Israeli lawmakers confront foreign officials aiding illegal Arab activity that threatens Jewish sovereignty in Jerusalem.

A tense confrontation erupted in Jerusalem on Monday when MK Ohad Tal of the Religious Zionism party challenged a French Consulate employee on Emile Botta Street during a tour investigating foreign missions allegedly operating outside Israeli law. The French consulate—situated in sovereign west Jerusalem—has been openly providing services to Palestinian Arabs in Judea and Samaria in coordination with the Palestinian Authority, despite Israel’s Basic Law prohibiting any foreign mission from functioning without official accreditation from the State of Israel.

According to MK Tal, the French diplomatic staff are not merely bending protocol but actively violating Israel’s sovereignty while strengthening the PA’s political foothold inside the Jewish state’s capital. He accused them of maneuvering outside diplomatic norms, effectively enabling hostile Palestinian networks that consistently work against Israel’s legitimacy and security.

Participants in the tour, organized by Tal and the Jerusalem Center for Applied Policy (JCAP), charged that certain foreign consulates engage in activities glorifying terrorists, supporting illegal Arab construction, and advancing agendas that directly contradict Israel’s national interests. These actions, they warned, represent a dangerous intrusion by foreign governments aligned with anti-Israel elements.

The tour was attended by prominent pro-Israel lawmakers, including Minister Orit Strock, MKs Amit Halevi, Michal Woldiger, Osher Shekalim, and Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Hagit Moshe — signaling growing political determination to confront foreign entities that leverage diplomatic cover to aid Palestinian subversion on Israeli soil.
