Hamas Fighters Collapse in Rafah as Local Militia Hands Surrendered Terrorists Directly to IDF

Rafah terrorists surrender in disgrace as Israel’s precision forces crush Hamas cells hiding among civilians.

A dramatic blow to Hamas unfolded in Rafah on Wednesday when a local militia commanded by Yasser Abu Shabab revealed that four members of Hamas’s military wing had surrendered while attempting to attack the designated humanitarian zone. The attempted assault—yet another violation of civilian protections by Hamas—ended not in glory but in humiliation, as the terrorists turned themselves in rather than face the consequences.

Abu Shabab, whose militia claims to coordinate operations “with the international coalition,” captured the four fighters and immediately transferred them to IDF troops. He also released video footage showing one of the detainees openly confessing his identity and involvement in Hamas terror activities—an admission that once again exposes Hamas’s deceit and its cowardly exploitation of Gaza civilians.

A Gaza-based news channel identified one of the surrendering terrorists as Tarek al-Shawi, confirming that the four were handed over to Israel as part of ongoing operational cooperation between the militia and the IDF.

This surrender followed earlier IDF-released footage showing six armed Hamas operatives emerging from a Rafah tunnel—another example of the terror group’s reliance on underground infrastructure while civilians suffer above. The terrorists were eliminated from the air after precise identification by ground forces.

Immediately after the strike, a Nahal Brigade battle team swept into a nearby building, locating four additional terrorists. One had already been killed by the airstrike; the remaining three were neutralized at close range by Israeli soldiers. Two more were arrested.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, over 20 Hamas terrorists have been eliminated in eastern Rafah in the past week, while eight others attempting to flee the collapsing tunnel network were captured alive.

Israel’s forces continue tightening the net around Rafah, dismantling the final remnants of Hamas terror cells while safeguarding the humanitarian zone Hamas repeatedly tries to infiltrate and exploit.
