Assad-linked operatives target IDF and Druze civilians, but Israeli forces strike swiftly and precisely.
Israel has uncovered that terror operatives promoting attacks in Syria are acting on behalf of the General Intelligence Directorate of President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s regime, Kan 11 News reported Friday—confirming long-held Israeli assessments that Damascus continues to sponsor cross-border violence despite pretending to maintain stability.
According to intelligence sources, these Syrian regime-linked elements are not only directing attacks against IDF soldiers, but are also attempting to strike the Druze community in Khader, a civilian minority repeatedly targeted by jihadist and pro-regime militias. The revelation underscores Syria’s continued role in destabilizing the border region and weaponizing terror networks to serve broader Arab-Iranian agendas.
The report comes on the heels of a dramatic overnight operation conducted by the IDF’s 55th Reserve Brigade, which deployed into the town of Beit Jinn, on the slopes of the Syrian Hermon, to arrest wanted terrorists.
The mission targeted two brothers, operatives in the extremist al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya organization, responsible for planting explosives and launching missiles at Israeli forces.
IDF troops entered the home and arrested both men in their beds without resistance, demonstrating Israel’s surgical precision in extracting high-value suspects from hostile environments.
As soldiers exited the residence, terrorists opened fire from approximately 200 meters away, striking a military vehicle.
Six reservists were wounded, three seriously, in the ambush.
IDF forces immediately returned fire, neutralizing several terrorists. Two additional suspects were arrested and transferred to Israel for interrogation.
Israel’s ability to strike deep into a hostile, Syrian-controlled area and uncover a regime-backed terror network illustrates what many in the region refuse to acknowledge:
the Syrian regime, like Iran and Hezbollah, continues to direct terror under the guise of “resistance,” while Israel alone protects civilians—Jewish, Druze, and others—from cross-border violence.
