Hamas Massacre Participant Walks Free in Belgium as Israel Demands Action Against Escaped October 7 Terrorist

A Gaza terrorist who invaded Israel on October 7 now freely wanders Belgium’s streets unpunished.

Mohanad Alkhatib, a Hamas operative from Khan Yunis who took part in the October 7 atrocities, has resurfaced in Europe—this time strolling casually through the Christmas market in Antwerp, Belgium, as though he were an innocent tourist rather than a participant in one of the worst massacres of Jews since the Holocaust.

Alkhatib, who openly celebrated the invasion of Israeli communities, was filmed on October 7 walking toward Israeli territory amid burning plumes and looted Israeli vehicles, triumphantly shouting, “Forward, fire and ash!”—a chilling slogan echoing Hamas’s genocidal intent. His enthusiastic participation was documented in multiple videos circulated by Hamas supporters shortly after the assault.

Despite this clear evidence, Alkhatib somehow slipped out of Gaza and arrived in Brussels, where he was granted refugee status—an indictment of Europe’s porous asylum mechanisms that increasingly shield violent Islamist militants while lecturing Israel on “human rights.” After his presence in Belgium became known in November, he briefly vanished from public view, only to reappear now, carefree and smiling, at a festive market in Antwerp.

Belgian authorities have an open complaint and an ongoing terrorism investigation into his role in the massacre, yet the suspect remains at large, enjoying European freedoms while Israeli families still mourn their murdered loved ones.

Israel’s Ambassador to Belgium, Idit Rosenzweig-Abu, reacted sharply:
“Look who’s back in Belgium. A friend of the late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh—one of the men who charged toward Israel with the murderers on October 7—is now enjoying a Christmas market. I hope he will be arrested for questioning soon.”

Her comments underscore a growing concern: Europe’s failure to confront Hamas-linked operatives within its own borders, even as these same militants glorify slaughter and call for further attacks.

For Israelis, Alkhatib’s European holiday is not just an insult—it is a disturbing warning of what happens when Western governments underestimate the reach of Islamist terrorism.
