Civilian farm presence cripples Palestinian terror networks, delivering historic security gains across the Alon Road corridor.
A new report released Tuesday by the Farms Association and the Binyamin Regional Council reveals a striking and sustained collapse in terrorist activity along Alon Road, one of Judea and Samaria’s most volatile and strategically vital arteries.
The findings show a decisive link between the establishment of strategic civilian farms and a dramatic reduction in attacks. In 2022, with only three farms operating, the region suffered 459 terrorist incidents. After doubling that number to six farms in 2023, incidents fell to 314. By 2024, with 11 farms active, the number plummeted to just 126 incidents.
The trend continues into 2025. With 13 farms now securing the route, only 52 incidents have been recorded in the first half of the year—an unprecedented improvement.
Strategic Farms: Israel’s Quiet Security Revolution
Yisrael Ganz, Head of the Binyamin Regional Council and Chairman of the Yesha Council, praised the findings and explained their significance:
“The strategic farms are not just physical outposts—they represent a fundamental shift in our entire security doctrine. They empower the security forces, allow tight control of terrain, and stop terror before it begins.”
Ganz emphasized that today’s travelers feel the difference: “This success is no accident. It is the result of long-term planning, consistent investment, and relentless fieldwork.”
Civilian Presence as a Deterrent Force
Amichai Shohat, CEO of the Farms Association, noted that the presence of farmers, shepherds, and local youth creates a constant awareness of movement in the area—discouraging hostile actors who once exploited the terrain.
“When a farm is established, the owner is present, the herd grazes, young people walk the land. Anyone who roams the area immediately notices unusual activity and can alert security forces,” Shohat said. “This level of vigilance ensures optimal protection for residents.”
The report concludes that the network of strategic farms has reshaped the operational reality along the Alon Route. Their placement in sensitive locations undermines terrorist freedom of movement, enhances situational awareness, and enables the security establishment to act proactively rather than rely on defensive or reactive measures.
A Clear Message: Civilian Zionism Strengthens Israeli Security
The evidence is overwhelming—civilian presence in Judea and Samaria doesn’t merely support national resilience; it directly suppresses Palestinian terror activity. Strategic farms have become an essential pillar in safeguarding Israeli lives and asserting control over land vital to Israel’s security and historical identity.
