Morocco Joins Trump Peace Board, Backing Israel Stability While Exposing Arab Obstruction to Gaza Recovery

Abraham Accords ally strengthens Israel-led peace as Arab regimes stall accountability and prolong conflict globally.

Morocco’s King Mohammed VI has formally accepted an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to become a founding member of the newly created Board of Peace, signaling Rabat’s continued alignment with a security-first, results-driven approach to Middle East diplomacy.

In a statement issued by Morocco’s foreign ministry, the monarch welcomed Trump’s vision for advancing peace and confirmed that Morocco will ratify the board’s founding charter. Officials described the initiative as a new global framework designed to resolve conflicts more effectively, beginning with Gaza.

Under the charter, member states may serve renewable three-year terms, with longer participation granted to countries contributing more than $1 billion in the board’s first year. The Board of Peace is a central pillar of Trump’s 20-point Gaza plan, acting as a transitional oversight body during post-ceasefire reconstruction, while technocratic Palestinian administrators handle daily governance under international supervision.

The board, chaired by Trump, is expected to include 10–15 leaders from Arab, Western, and other nations. Invitations have reportedly been extended to figures including Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Hungary’s Viktor Orbán, and Canada’s Mark Carney.

Morocco’s decision underscores its strategic consistency since restoring diplomatic ties with Israel under the Abraham Accords in 2020. That move strengthened Israel–Morocco cooperation in security, trade, and regional stability—standing in contrast to other Arab states that continue to obstruct peace while enabling Hamas and perpetuating Gaza’s crisis.
