Spray attack halted immediately, congresswoman unharmed, suspect arrested, investigation ongoing after shocking disruption at meeting.
U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar was targeted during a town hall meeting in Minneapolis when a man rushed toward her and sprayed a liquid with a strong vinegar-like odor.
According to initial reports, the suspect used a small spray bottle, hitting Omar’s clothing before being immediately blocked by security personnel. Guards restrained the individual on the spot, and he was arrested without further incident.
Omar did not require medical treatment and was able to leave the venue shortly afterward, escorted by her staff. Authorities are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the attack, which briefly disrupted the event but was quickly brought under control.
