Iran Blasts Netanyahu Visit, Claims Israel Undermines Fragile US Nuclear Negotiations Progress.
Tensions escalated Tuesday as Iran accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of attempting to derail ongoing nuclear negotiations with the United States during his visit to Washington.
Netanyahu is scheduled to meet President Donald Trump, where he is expected to press for stricter limits on Iran’s ballistic missile program alongside nuclear constraints.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei claimed Israel is the primary source of regional instability and accused Jerusalem of transforming Iran’s “peaceful” nuclear program into what he described as a manufactured crisis. He further urged US officials not to allow external pressures to shape American foreign policy.
Diplomatic Crossfire
Baghaei insisted Tehran has demonstrated goodwill and seeks the removal of what it calls “illegal” sanctions. He referenced last Friday’s meeting between US and Iranian delegates in Muscat, noting both sides agreed to continue discussions.
President Trump characterized the talks as “very good” and confirmed further negotiations are expected. However, reports indicate Iran rejected US demands to halt uranium enrichment, though both parties agreed to continue diplomacy to avoid escalation.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that indirect negotiations would proceed only if Washington demonstrates what he called “necessary seriousness” and drops what Tehran views as excessive demands.
