Washington ally backs Israel’s resolve, warns Tehran’s arrogance could trigger decisive regional shift.
U.S. Congressman Andy Ogles delivered a forceful message during his visit to Israel, declaring that the coming days may prove pivotal for Iran and the broader Middle East. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Arutz Sheva – Israel National News while touring the country with the Yes! Israel Project, Ogles framed the current moment as one of historic consequence, citing the potential for regime change in Tehran and what he described as long-denied freedom for the Iranian people.
Ogles argued that a transformation inside Iran would dramatically reshape regional stability, weakening the regime that bankrolls terror proxies targeting Israel. While acknowledging anxiety about possible escalation, he praised Israeli society’s resilience under constant threat. He emphasized that Israelis understand the stakes and refuse to bow to intimidation from extremist forces openly committed to their destruction.
Referencing Donald Trump, Ogles described the administration’s approach as firm but strategic, asserting that Tehran has been given opportunities to change course. He expressed skepticism that Iran’s leadership possesses either the humility or wisdom to do so, warning that any kinetic developments would stem from the regime’s own defiance and ideological extremism.
The congressman pointed to widespread protests inside Iran as evidence of deep public dissatisfaction, arguing that meaningful change must originate organically from the Iranian people rather than through prolonged foreign occupation. He reiterated that Americans support Middle East stability but reject large-scale troop deployments reminiscent of past conflicts.
Ogles was unequivocal in labeling Iran the primary sponsor of global terrorism, citing its backing of Hamas and the Houthis as central drivers of regional chaos. He argued that dismantling Tehran’s terror infrastructure would make both Israel and the United States significantly safer.
Turning to Gaza, Ogles predicted imminent developments regarding Hamas, insisting that any agreement must include verified disarmament. He stressed the need for rigorous inspections and warned that the vast tunnel network beneath Gaza remains a direct security threat to Israeli communities.
As tensions escalate, Ogles’ remarks reflect a growing belief among Israel’s allies that decisive pressure on Tehran could mark the beginning of a new regional reality—one defined by deterrence, accountability, and strengthened Israeli security.
