Indian leader declares zero tolerance for terror, stands firmly with Israel in historic address.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Knesset on Wednesday alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, marking a powerful moment in the growing partnership between the two democracies.

In the Knesset guest book, Modi wrote that he was honored to be the first Indian Prime Minister to address Israel’s parliament. He emphasized that India and Israel share a deep commitment to freedom, pluralism, and the rule of law, describing these shared values as the foundation of a strong and enduring partnership. He pledged continued cooperation to promote peace, innovation, and prosperity while contributing to a just and sustainable world.

Netanyahu welcomed Modi with visible emotion, declaring that both nations are stronger than ever. He framed the global struggle against extremism as a defining challenge, asserting that Israel would prevail through the courage of its fighters. He highlighted Modi’s swift support for Israel following the October 7 Hamas massacre, noting that the Indian leader was among the first world leaders to stand firmly with the Jewish state during its darkest hour.

In a deeply personal moment, Netanyahu thanked India for its historic record of welcoming Jews and standing apart in a world where antisemitism is rising. He described Modi as a great friend of Israel and a champion of the Indian-Israeli alliance, praising his leadership on the global stage.

Addressing lawmakers, Modi conveyed the condolences of the Indian people for the victims of the October 7 terrorist attack and the war that followed. He stated that the response to terrorism must be zero tolerance and affirmed that India stands with Israel firmly and with full conviction, both now and in the future.

Modi closed his remarks with the Hebrew declaration “Am Yisrael Chai,” affirming solidarity with the Jewish people and drawing sustained applause in the chamber.

The visit underscores the deepening strategic, technological, and security cooperation between Jerusalem and New Delhi, reinforcing a partnership built on shared democratic values and a united stand against terrorism.
