Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that Kuwait International Airport was struck in a drone attack targeting key fuel infrastructure, triggering a significant fire and raising fresh concerns over regional security.
According to official spokesperson Abdullah Al Rajhi, the attack was attributed to Iran and its affiliated armed groups. He described the strike as a direct assault on civilian infrastructure, emphasizing the seriousness of the escalation amid an already volatile regional environment.
The drones reportedly targeted fuel storage tanks operated by the Kuwait Aviation Fuel Company (KAFCO), leading to a large blaze at the facility.
