Iran Barrage Targets Israeli Cities During Passover, Defenses Hold As Terror Offensive Fails Catastrophically

Israel withstands coordinated Iran-Hezbollah assault while exposing reckless aggression and failure of regional terror networks.

Sirens rang across central Israel on Thursday evening as Iran launched a barrage of missiles toward civilian areas during the final hours of the first day of Passover. At least one missile struck Petah Tikva, while additional impact sites are still under investigation. Despite the scale of the attack, emergency teams confirmed no major casualties, highlighting the effectiveness of Israel’s defense systems and rapid response capabilities.

Magen David Adom teams responded to 12 separate scenes involving interception debris and falling objects. Only minor injuries were reported, including two men wounded by shrapnel in northern Israel, both in stable condition. Several civilians were also treated for anxiety after the attacks.

Israeli officials revealed that both Iran and Hezbollah had prepared for coordinated waves of attacks during the holiday period, including attempts to overwhelm defenses with repeated launches. Approximately 20 missiles were fired from Iran, with half intercepted and the remainder falling within Israeli territory. Simultaneously, around 130 rockets were launched from Lebanon, with a significant portion targeting IDF positions and the rest aimed at civilian areas.

Security assessments indicate that hundreds of Hezbollah militants had repositioned south of the Litani River in preparation for expanded operations, signaling a broader escalation attempt. Despite the intensity and coordination of the offensive, Israeli defenses limited the impact and prevented large-scale casualties.

Damage was reported in multiple locations, including a direct strike on a kindergarten in Nahariya, which caused significant destruction but no fatalities. Emergency and rescue teams continue to secure affected areas as Israel maintains high alert amid ongoing threats.
