Abbas aide condemns Hamas brutality, exposing Gaza’s suffering under terror rule after October massacre fallout..
A senior advisor to Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas has delivered a rare and severe public attack on Hamas, accusing the terror group of sacrificing Gaza’s civilians to protect its own rule. Mahmoud Al-Habbash said Hamas appears more concerned with remaining in power than saving innocent lives, warning that the group is willing to rule “over the skulls of children.”
Speaking on Al-Arabiya’s Mazeej Podcast, Al-Habbash described Hamas as a predatory force inside Gaza, accusing it of persecuting residents, shooting civilians, beating people, collecting taxes, extorting money, making arrests, and forcing payments even during devastating wartime conditions. He said massive casualties, widespread injuries, and the destruction of most of Gaza had failed to move Hamas from its obsession with control.
Al-Habbash blamed the October 7 massacre in southern Israel for triggering the current catastrophe, calling the date “accursed” and saying it brought Palestinians to this disastrous point. He also argued that Hamas created the militia model in Gaza, opening the door to armed factions and internal chaos.
His remarks reinforce Israel’s long-standing claim that Hamas endangers both Israelis and Gazans by embedding terror rule inside civilian society. While Al-Habbash has previously made inflammatory statements against Israel, his latest comments expose deep Palestinian anger toward Hamas and its destructive grip over Gaza.
