Graham Urges Forceful Trump Strike To Crush Iran’s Threats And Restore American Deterrence

Tehran’s defiance sparks urgent calls for decisive action as Israel and allies face escalating danger.

US Senator Lindsey Graham has urged President Donald Trump to respond forcefully to Iran’s continued defiance, warning that prolonged negotiations without military pressure could embolden Tehran and weaken American deterrence.

Writing on X, Graham said Iran has been severely weakened militarily and economically, yet remains aggressive across the region and in the Strait of Hormuz. He argued that a short, decisive response would “reset” the conflict and send a clear message that Washington will negotiate only from strength and dominance.

Graham said the United States must “finish what we started,” stressing that hesitation could raise doubts among allies and encourage the Iranian regime to continue its hostile conduct.

President Trump also criticized Tehran’s behavior in negotiations, saying Iran appears eager to reach a deal but repeatedly returns with proposals that do not match earlier understandings.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei rejected pressure from Washington, saying Tehran’s current focus is ending the war while refusing to surrender what it claims are nuclear rights under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Baghaei also warned that Iran’s armed forces are prepared for any scenario and threatened a powerful response to any strike, claiming Tehran has “new surprises” ready for its enemies.
