Israel Freezes UN Secretary-General Ties After Guterres Blacklists Jewish State Alongside Terror Organizations In Disgrace

Danon condemns UN betrayal, defending Israel against grotesque comparison with Hamas, ISIS and terror networks”

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, announced Thursday that Israel is freezing relations with the office of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres after his decision to include Israeli entities on a blacklist concerning sexual violence in conflict zones.

Danon said the Israeli Mission to the UN will have no contact with the Secretary-General’s Office as long as Guterres remains head of the organization.

The decision follows a year in which Israel’s UN mission and delegation reportedly held multiple meetings with UN representatives, submitted documents and data, and provided detailed responses to allegations raised against Israel.

Despite those efforts, Guterres chose to move forward with what Israel describes as a political decision, placing Israeli entities on a list alongside Hamas, ISIS and other terrorist organizations.

Danon sharply condemned the move, saying Israel is finished dealing with the current UN Secretary-General. He accused Guterres of creating a moral disgrace by placing Israel in the same category as some of the world’s most depraved terror groups.

According to Danon, the decision proves that Guterres has lost credibility and turned the UN into a platform for political attacks against the Jewish state rather than a body committed to truth and justice.

The diplomatic freeze marks another sharp escalation between Israel and the UN, as Jerusalem rejects any attempt to equate a democratic state defending its citizens with terrorist organizations responsible for massacre, rape and barbaric violence.
