Ahmed Al-Jarallah says Iran deceived Hamas, abandoned Gaza and exposed the collapse of terror resistance”
Kuwaiti journalist and Al-Seyassah editor Ahmed Al-Jarallah delivered a sharp attack on Hamas and Palestinian terror factions during an interview with Saudi network Al Arabiya, accusing their leaders of betraying Gaza while profiting from war.
The discussion focused on the collapse of the so-called Axis of Resistance after the October 7 massacre and Hamas’s refusal to condemn Iranian attacks on Gulf states while openly supporting Tehran.
Al-Jarallah said the groups that have harmed the Palestinian cause most are the factions that claim to defend it. He accused Hamas leaders of living in wealth and comfort abroad while ordinary Gazans pay the price of destruction.
He described Hamas’s leadership as fighting a “hotel war,” saying Gaza’s people died while their leaders stayed in luxury hotels, travelled on private jets and enjoyed foreign money.
Al-Jarallah said Yahya Sinwar launched the October 7 attack because Iran promised support, but Tehran quickly abandoned Hamas. He argued that Gaza was destroyed for money, private jets and false Iranian promises.
He also accused Palestinian leaders of repeatedly blocking chances for peace and political settlement for financial reasons.
Asked whether Gulf states should make peace with Israel even before recognition of a Palestinian state, Al-Jarallah answered yes. He said Palestinians have long been used as a bargaining chip and questioned what leaders like Yasser Arafat and Khaled Mashaal ever truly achieved for Gaza.
His remarks reflect growing Arab frustration with Hamas, Iran and the terror strategy that has brought devastation instead of dignity.
