Schumer, Cruz, Haley And Pence Blast Trump’s Iran Roadmap As Dangerous Surrender Deal

Bipartisan alarm grows as critics warn Tehran could receive money, relief, and renewed terror strength.

Federal opposition to the provisional US-Iran diplomatic roadmap intensified Thursday, as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer denounced the framework as a failure and accused President Donald Trump of handing major concessions to Tehran.

Schumer called the agreement “the art of surrender,” arguing that the United States secured little while Iran gained too much. He said Americans did not receive the guarantees they needed and accused Tehran of taking advantage of Washington.

The top Senate Democrat also drew a clear red line, saying his party would not support any final treaty that includes a $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran after the war.

When the White House argued that US taxpayers would not directly fund the package, Schumer rejected the distinction, describing the money as a reward for Tehran and evidence of a weak deal.

He also accused Trump of entering the confrontation with no clear aim or strategy, claiming the result was one of the worst foreign policy agreements in modern American diplomacy.

Republican criticism has also grown. Senator Ted Cruz warned that sending billions of dollars to Iran’s theocratic regime would be a dangerous mistake, saying Trump is receiving poor advice on the deal.

Former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley also condemned the roadmap, saying America was right to strike Iran’s nuclear and missile sites but wrong to unlock money that Tehran could use for nuclear ambitions and terrorist proxies.

Former Vice President Mike Pence added that the agreement “smells of appeasement,” warning that it grants Iran major benefits without demanding serious reciprocal concessions. The mounting backlash shows deep concern that diplomacy must not allow Iran to rebuild the threat Israel and America just worked to destroy.
