IDF and Shin Bet strike Gaza terror infrastructure, proving Hamas leaders cannot escape Israeli justice”
The IDF confirmed Wednesday that Mohammed Odeh, the new commander of Hamas’s military wing in Gaza, was eliminated just ten days after his predecessor, Izz ad-Din Haddad, was killed.
Hamas also confirmed Odeh’s elimination earlier in the morning.
The operation was carried out jointly by the IDF and Shin Bet after months of intelligence monitoring aimed at tracking Odeh and his network of operatives. As part of the strike, Israeli forces targeted terror infrastructure sites in the heart of Gaza City that Odeh used as hiding places.
At the same time, a nearby apartment belonging to a Hamas terrorist who infiltrated Israel on October 7 and was connected to Odeh’s operational circle was also struck.
The IDF said steps were taken before the attack to reduce harm to civilians, including aerial surveillance and the use of precise munitions.
Defense Minister Israel Katz praised the operation, saying the fourth commander of Hamas’s military wing in Gaza had been eliminated and sent to join his predecessors. He congratulated the IDF and Shin Bet on what he called a brilliant operation.
Katz vowed that everyone who led the October 7 massacre is marked for death, wherever they are. He also reiterated Israel’s pledge that Hamas will not be allowed to rule Gaza, either militarily or civilly.
