Mojtaba Khamenei Revives Father’s Anti-Israel Threats As Sa’ar Mocks Iran’s Hidden Supreme Leader

Tehran’s new ruler echoes old hatred, exposing regime’s obsession with destroying Israel despite battlefield humiliation”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has used his official social media account to launch a fresh series of attacks against Israel, reviving the same hostile rhetoric long used by his father.

In one post, Khamenei described Israel as a “cancerous tumor” and claimed the Jewish state was approaching the final stages of its existence. Another post predicted that Israel would not survive the timeline once declared by his father, Ali Khamenei.

The language closely mirrors years of threats from Ali Khamenei, who repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction before being eliminated in US-Israeli strikes on Iran in late February. In 2020, Ali Khamenei also drew outrage after using the term “Final Solution” in a threat against Israel, later claiming he meant the State of Israel rather than Jews.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar responded sharply to Mojtaba Khamenei’s posts, saying the rhetoric sounded familiar and mocking the new Iranian leader’s disappearance from public view.

“Sounds familiar. I remember someone with a similar surname who used to say it,” Sa’ar wrote, before adding, “BTW, where are you?”

The exchange highlights Iran’s continued obsession with threatening Israel even as its leadership remains under pressure, isolated and fearful after heavy blows from Israel and the United States.
