Zell Says Trump Reports Are Tactical Deception As Israel Readies Fierce Response To Iran Barrage

Trump strategy keeps Tehran guessing while Israel prepares decisive action against Iran’s dangerous missile blackmail.

Adv. Marc Zell, Chairman of Republicans Overseas Israel and Vice President and General Counsel of Republicans Overseas Inc., rejected reports claiming that U.S. President Donald Trump ordered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to retaliate after Iran launched missiles toward Israeli territory.

Speaking to Arutz Sheva-Israel National News, Zell said the reports should not be taken at face value, arguing that they are part of Trump’s familiar strategy of keeping America’s enemies confused and off balance.

According to Zell, the claim that Trump demanded Israeli restraint is a deliberate deception designed to outmaneuver Iran and weaken Tehran’s calculations. He insisted that Israel will not surrender to terrorist pressure or allow Iran to dictate the rules of the battlefield.

Zell praised Israel’s response against Hezbollah and said Netanyahu will meet the moment with strength. He added that Trump will continue to outplay Iran’s leadership and that the time has come to “finish the job.”

Iran launched several missile barrages on Sunday evening, targeting northern Israel, the Sharon region, and Samaria. Israeli air defense systems intercepted all incoming missiles, though sirens sounded across dozens of cities and communities.

Trump had reportedly said after the attack that he planned to call Netanyahu and urge him not to strike back, arguing that Iran’s missiles caused no casualties and that Washington was close to a final agreement with Tehran.

Netanyahu and Trump later spoke by phone, after which the Israeli Prime Minister held a security consultation. At the same time, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir conducted a situational assessment with senior commanders.

Zamir made clear that the IDF has completed its operational preparations and is ready for further action. Military officials emphasized that all plans are finalized and forces remain on high alert after Iran’s violation of the ceasefire.
