Officials from the Hamas terrorist organization say the US and Israel are taking the current ceasefire talks more seriously than before.
Hamas Sources: U.S. Pressure Brings Unprecedented Momentum to Doha Talks
Sources within Hamas have told the Saudi daily Asharq Al-Awsat that the current round of indirect negotiations in Doha marks a significant departure from previous efforts—this time, driven by a notably higher level of seriousness, primarily due to heightened U.S. involvement.
Unlike earlier rounds, which the sources described as “lacking genuine commitment” from both Israel and the United States, the latest talks are reportedly advancing with new momentum, thanks to Washington’s intensified diplomatic pressure.
“While it’s too early to predict the outcome,” one Hamas source stated, “we’re seeing growing optimism. The U.S. is clearly pushing for a deal to be finalized soon—something we haven’t seen at this level before.”
The sources suggested that if the pace continues, a ceasefire could be implemented as early as Thursday. However, they cautioned that progress hinges on Israel’s readiness to meet Hamas’ core demands, which remain on the table in Doha.
The report signals a potential breakthrough in the long-stalled negotiations, reflecting not only the shifting posture of regional stakeholders but also Washington’s renewed assertiveness in shaping the outcome.
