Israeli FM Gideon Sa’ar Heads to Serbia for High-Level Talks and Holocaust Memorial Visit

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar to meet Serbia’s top leadership, strengthen ties, and honor Jewish Holocaust victims in Belgrade.

Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar will embark on a diplomatic mission to Serbia on Tuesday, underscoring Israel’s growing partnerships in Eastern Europe and its commitment to Jewish heritage.

During the visit, Sa’ar will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Djuro Macut, Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, and Speaker of Parliament Ana Brnabić. The talks are expected to focus on deepening bilateral cooperation, regional stability, and strengthening Israel-Serbia diplomatic and economic ties.

Sa’ar will also deliver a joint press statement with Serbian Foreign Minister Đurić, reflecting the close coordination between the two governments.

In addition to his official meetings, Sa’ar will engage with leaders of Serbia’s Jewish community, reinforcing Israel’s connection to Jewish life in the Balkans. A central part of the visit will be his stop at the “Menorah in Flames” memorial in Belgrade, dedicated to the memory of Serbian and Belgrade Jews murdered in the Holocaust.

The visit highlights Israel’s dual focus: advancing strategic partnerships with allies while honoring the legacy and sacrifices of Jewish communities throughout history.
