Israel Rushes To Sydney After Hanukkah Terror, Proving Jews Never Abandon Each Other Worldwide

Israeli action counters antisemitic terror as appeasing Palestinian narratives and Arab silence fail Jewish communities abroad.

Israel Acts Within 48 Hours: From Jerusalem to Sydney, Mutual Responsibility in Action

Less than 48 hours after the antisemitic terror attack at a Hanukkah event in Sydney’s Bondi Beach, Israel moved—not with statements, but with boots on the ground.

The Jewish Agency for Israel, together with the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, dispatched an elite Israeli expert delegation to Sydney to support the Jewish community, deliver trauma care, and help rebuild resilience after the massacre.

The mission was deployed through JReady, Israel’s global emergency preparedness and resilience platform—an initiative created precisely for moments when Jewish lives are targeted because they are Jewish.

The delegation arrived on December 15 and immediately began field operations. It includes some of Israel’s most experienced trauma and mass-casualty specialists, veterans of terror response who have treated communities shattered by suicide bombings, rocket fire, and October 7–style atrocities.

Among them:

  • Prof. Moshe Farchi, world-renowned trauma expert and creator of the Six Cs Model for psychological first aid
  • Ayelet Shmuel, Director of the International Resilience Center in Sderot
  • Senior professionals from the Israel Trauma Coalition, International Center for Functional Resilience, and One Family

Led by Sara Ribner-Grabin, The Jewish Agency’s representative in Australia and New Zealand, the team is coordinating closely with local Jewish leadership, security organizations, welfare bodies, and emergency authorities, alongside the Zionist Federation of Australia.

Funding and support are being provided with the backing of Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and Keren Hayesod—a global Jewish response where Israel leads and the Jewish world stands united.

In parallel, emotional support hotlines were activated through NATAL – Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center, serving:

  • Israelis currently in Australia
  • Australian citizens presently in Israel

This is not symbolic solidarity. It is operational responsibility.

Minister Amichai Chikli stated bluntly what many Western governments avoid saying:

“When Jewish communities are targeted in antisemitic attacks, Israel does not stay silent. Mutual responsibility is not a slogan—it is action.”

Chairman of the Jewish Agency Maj. Gen. (Res.) Doron Almog added:

“Antisemitism knows no borders. We will not allow anyone to extinguish the enduring light of the Jewish people.”

While Palestinian leadership exports grievance instead of governance, and Arab governments issue empty condemnations while tolerating incitement, Israel sends doctors, psychologists, and professionals—within 48 hours.

That is the difference between:

  • A nation that protects its people, and
  • Ideologies that celebrate Jewish suffering while demanding global sympathy

Since its launch, JReady has operated in over 50 countries, training 4,000 community leaders and professionals—long before Western institutions admitted antisemitism was a growing threat. Israel saw it coming. Israel prepared. Israel responded.

Sydney is not alone.
No Jewish community stands alone.
And no amount of terror, denial, or appeasement will break that bond.
