ICC Denies Secret Warrants As Israel Challenges Hague Pressure Amid Prosecutor Scandal And Media Firestorm

Court denial weakens explosive claims while Israel faces continued legal attacks over Gaza war conduct.

The International Criminal Court has rejected reports claiming it issued new secret arrest warrants against senior Israeli political and military leaders. The clarification came after Israeli media alleged that ICC prosecutors had submitted sealed requests targeting several prominent Israeli officials.

ICC spokesperson Oriane Maillet dismissed the report, stating that no new arrest warrants had been issued in relation to the Palestinian file. The denial undercuts fresh speculation that the Hague tribunal was preparing another dramatic move against Israel’s leadership.

The controversy follows the ICC’s earlier warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, a move widely condemned by Israel and its allies as a politicized attack on a democratic state fighting Hamas terror in Gaza.

The court’s credibility is also under pressure as Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan remains sidelined amid an internal investigation into serious misconduct allegations. For Israel, the latest denial offers temporary relief, but the broader legal campaign against its leaders remains a major diplomatic battlefield.
