Netanyahu And Trump Demand Iran Nuclear Dismantlement As Hormuz Deal Talks Move Forward Carefully

Israel and America reaffirm ironclad alliance, warning Tehran no agreement can permit nuclear weapons capability.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that he spoke with US President Donald Trump about the memorandum of understanding to reopen the Straits of Hormuz and the coming negotiations toward a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.

Netanyahu expressed deep appreciation for Trump’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security, especially during Operations Roaring Lion and Epic Fury, when American and Israeli forces fought side by side against the Iranian threat.

According to Netanyahu, both leaders agreed that any final agreement with Tehran must fully eliminate the nuclear danger. He said this requires dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites and removing enriched nuclear material from Iranian territory.

Netanyahu also said Trump reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon. The prime minister stressed that the partnership between Israel and the United States has been proven on the battlefield and has never been stronger.

His statement followed Trump’s own message promising that the emerging deal would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Trump sharply criticized the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal, calling it a dangerous path toward Tehran obtaining a bomb, and said the current negotiations are moving in the opposite direction.

Trump said talks are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner, but instructed his representatives not to rush because time is on America’s side. He added that the blockade of Iran will remain fully in force until an agreement is reached, certified and signed.

Both leaders delivered the same clear message: Iran will not be allowed to develop or obtain nuclear weapons, and any deal must permanently remove that threat.
