US President Donald Trump has sharply escalated his rhetoric against Iran after rejecting Tehran’s latest proposal to end the American war against the Islamic Republic. Speaking at a White House event on Monday, Trump dismissed the Iranian response as “stupid” and said he did not even finish reading it.
Trump said he had prepared what he described as an “amazing plan” after Iran’s defeat, but stressed that Tehran must fully understand one condition: it will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. He described Iran as dangerous and said the current ceasefire had become extremely fragile following the proposal submitted by Tehran.
In a separate Fox News interview, Trump said it was very possible that the United States would resume its operation to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He added that, this time, escorting ships would be only a small part of a broader American military effort.
Trump also claimed that Iranian officials had told him the United States would have to deal with “nuclear dust” from Iran’s destroyed facilities because Tehran lacked the technological capability to manage it safely.
The remarks signal that Washington may be moving closer to renewed military pressure if diplomacy fails. For Israel, Trump’s position reinforces the core security message: Iran’s nuclear ambitions, maritime threats, and regional aggression cannot be rewarded through weak concessions.
