Qatar Accused Of Funding US Schools To Spread Anti-Israel Bias And Normalize Terror Narratives

Report warns foreign influence is shaping American classrooms while undermining Israel, truth and regional peace efforts”

A new report claims Qatar spent more than $65 million to influence public and private education systems across the United States, allegedly promoting classroom content that weakens support for Israel and presents extremist narratives in a softer light.

The report, detailed by Jewish Insider and prepared by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy, alleges that Qatar operated a long-term influence network through Qatar Foundation International over the past 17 years.

According to the findings, the funding did not stop at universities. It reportedly reached elementary schools, high schools, national education networks and official teacher-training programs, giving Doha access to the formation of educational material used by young American students.

The report alleges that Qatari-backed programs included content questioning Israel’s legitimacy as a Jewish and democratic state. It also claims the material undermined regional normalization efforts, including the Abraham Accords, while presenting some Islamist terrorist groups as legitimate political actors or “freedom fighters.”

ISGAP further claimed Qatar directed resources toward strategically important American states with large immigrant populations, allegedly making it easier to spread these messages through local education systems.

In response, ISGAP called on the US administration to designate the Qatar Foundation as a foreign agent, which would restrict its ability to fund American educational institutions.

The report triggered bipartisan concern in Washington. Democratic Congressman Jared Moskowitz said no foreign government should be allowed to shape educational materials for American students. Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik called the findings shocking.

The allegations raise serious questions about foreign influence, antisemitism and the need to protect American classrooms from propaganda hostile to Israel and Western values.
